Cultural Education 4 Kids Logo This program brings books, education and creative projects to school aged children in the public school system. The lessons are geared to teach tolerance and cultural diversity. It is also our goal to foster a love of reading and place books into the hands of young children. Each child who participates in the program receives a book to take home.

Mud SoupOur book for the Cultural Education 4 Kids 2007/2008 school year is Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold. It is being offered to first grade students on a first come, first serve basis. This program is brought to the public school system for free and lasts from 45 minutes to an hour. We ask that schools allot an hour.

Sign up for this program will be available to schools beginning January 1st.

The Cultural Education 4 Kids program was brought to the Manasquan Elementary School and Nellie Bennet Elementary School last year and was a huge success! You can read articles here.

Target LogoThis year's program is made possible thanks to a generous grant from Target. We thank them for their generosity and continued support of programs that promote a love of reading.

Last year's book was Mud Soup by Judith Head and was geared towards second graders. Students created bean art on plates and giggled as they were told it was possible to taste a person through the foods that they ate. For a copy of the teaching plan for the book Mud Soup you can click here.
